Woman nabbed for dumping one-day-old baby on Lagos street

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, on Thursday said the Police had arrested a 31-year-old woman who allegedly abandoned her day-old-baby on the street. Owoseni, who gave the suspect’s name as Ifunayan Eme, an indigene of Enugu State, said she was arrested on Tuesday during the Eid-el-Kabir holiday. He said the woman allegedly gave birth to the baby girl at No. 1, Prince Bello Street, Ajagbandi in Ojo Local Development Area Council of the state. The police chief said the suspect allegedly wrapped the baby and dumped it on the street, adding that the police was able to trace her after investigation. “The baby is now in the Police Cottage Hospital located at Ikeja Police College for proper care. “We are trying to reach A government agency that would rehabilitate the woman,’’ he said. John Terry to miss Chelsea v Liverpool due to foot injury

"Absolutely gutted, but will be giving everything to get back playing." Terry's diagnosis may not be as bad as was first feared but will still provide boss Antonio Conte with a defensive headache ahead of the Liverpool game. The centre-back left the stadium on crutches and took to Instagram to post pictures and videos of the swelling on his ankle and the treatment he was undergoing. With Terry ruled out, David Luiz could be in line to make his second debut for the Blues after returning to the club on Deadline Day for £30m. Terry's absence means he will also miss Chelsea's EFL Cup fixture away to Leicester City on September 20, but could be fit to return to Premier League action on September 24 against Arsenal.

Of interest are five choice houses believed to be Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s. It is all part of the last leg of the investigation of the ex-minister in collaboration with the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom. Amid the Port Harcourt operation, another asset of the ex-Minister in Abuja, allegedly worth over N500million,   has been confiscated pending her trial.  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier seized a mansion worth N3.58billion from the ex-minister, bringing the haul in Abuja to about N4.08billion of assets believed to be hers. The EFCC received intelligence report on the property  allegedly acquired by Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt. The tracking of the assets is said to be part of the probe of about $10billion allegedly looted in cash and assets by some form
